Whenever water finds a way to the surface of a metal and remains there for many days, it leads to an oxidation process and makes the metal surface full of rust.   • Small Brush

Method 1: Rinse the metal item that is affected with rust and dries it. Sprinkle some of the baking soda over the rusted item by making it sure that it covers all the rusty areas. Leave it to work for an hour, and then scrub it with the metal brush or steel wool removing the rust down to the metal. Rinse the item with warm water. This remedy is very useful for the metals have less rusty areas or are become useless after having large rust on them.

Method 2: Combine 2 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 teaspoon of water and make a thick past in a small bowl. Apply this prepared paste to the rust-stained areas with the help of a brush or using a damp, clean rag. Crease some aluminum foil pieces into the small ball shape. Use these small pieces of aluminum foil as a scouring pad to scrub the baking soda paste on the rust-stained item. Take a paper towel and wipe the paste away with it. All the rust will be removed with this simple remedy, but if there are some of it lefts, repeat the same process until you get your desired results.

These rust removing methods with baking soda are simple and does not require electricity unlike using the electrolysis method. So it will for sure give your metal a new look in less time.

Note: After removing all the rust from the metal items, just apply oil or paint over them so that it will keep the metal safe from rust for a long time. You can also sprinkle vinegar over the rust-stained metal item in spite of washing it with water before applying the baking soda paste. It will for sure make the cleaning process the easy one for you.
